The house is located on a steep 50 degree south east facing slope high above Bungan Beach to the north of Sydney. To provide a working couple with a permanent home separating the functions for guests, living and working. The house is a series of timber pavilions located around a sun drenched courtyard. The site has been extensively terraced with stone walls to create level areas and zig zag stairs wind up and between the pavilions. The pavilions allow the site to orientate to the SE view yet enjoy large expanses of north facing walls and open decks. The pavilions divide the functions of working, sleeping and living.
